 Volunteer

Bridlington and District RSPCA branch is totally independent, self-funding and responsible for all our own business decisions but at the same time we follow national policies and guidelines. Our Committee members meet monthly and are responsible for the decision making. We always welcome new volunteers and you can help in one or more of the following ways .

1) Become a Home Visitor
When someone contacts the Branch with a view to adopting an animal the home visitor goes into the home of a potential adopter, by appointment, to assess the home environment and family to ensure that we find the right homes for our animals. They always have the full backup of their coordinator and training for this role will be given.

2) Become a Shop Volunteer
Our charity shop is located in Bridlington (see shop page) and is a busy outlet. If you spare 3 hours a week to help and enjoy working with the public this could be the role for you. To volunteer to work on our counter you can either work from
10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm.

3) Help at Events
Every year we hold events throughout our area such as our Dog Show, Seasonal Fairs and Flag days ( see events page). We need help from volunteers at these events to run stalls, collect money, help set up and clear away. It is always good fun at our events and a great way to get out and about and meet new people, and you get to help raise money for the animals in our care.

4) Fostering.

We are always looking for people who would like a bit of “hands on” with the animals in our care. If you are interested in fostering a pregnant cat, kittens, rabbits or other small animals please contact us. We provide all necessary equipment, food & litter.

If you would like to volunteer in any way an application form can be obtained from our Charity Shop 42 Quay Road Bridlington.
