The new cattery and refurbished kennel block are now open.

Amy, Frances & Holly raised £250.27 through their Operation Lifestyle project during the school holidays by baking & selling cakes and doing a bag pack at Tesco in Driffield. They are pictured presenting their donation to Kay Harrison, the Treasurer of the local RSPCA.

The girls did really well to raise such a good amount and asked if their donation could be used towards things for the new cattery. They were invited to look around the cattery on one of the Open Days and were very impressed.

The RSPCA would like to thank the girls very much for their support and also thank Tesco for allowing them to use their store to bag pack.

Allysa and Olivia known as the Helping Hands raised money for the RSPCA for their Lifestyle challenge. During the summer holidays they washed cars, walked dogs, did jobs for family and friends and also donated the money raised at a car bot sale. The girls managed to raise £78.87 for the charity. During half term they have visited the new RSPCA centre in Nafferton to have a look at what their money goes to help. They thoroughly enjoyed heving a tour round the fantasticfacilities and also saying hello to some of the cats.

Sorry to rabbit on but...................

We are really struggling with the rabbit sitation as very few people are contacting us to give our rabbits good homes and more and more people are contacting us to give them up. We are now at saturation point and have no spaces available. We have found homes for a few single rabbits but it is months since we rehomed a pair.

We cannot understand why people buy rabbits as they have to pay for all veterinary care on top. Anyone adopting a rabbit from us pays an adoption fee of £25 which includes a vet check, a full course of vaccinations for myxomatosis and Viral Haemoragic Disease, neutering and micro-chipping. All this would cost well over £100 if paid by the owner. As an extra incentive to adopt a pair of rabbits the adoption fee is reduced to £40 for the pair.

Photographs of many of the rabbits in our care are featured on this website but details of all the rabbits can be obtained from the volunteer who deals with them. Anyone interested in adopting should ring 01262 409080 and leave a message including a telephone number so the calls can be returned.

Please note this is an answer phone service only so a mesage must be left.
