Adoption Procedure

 

If you are fully aware of the expenses of responsible animal ownership and are prepared to give an animal a good home for the rest of its life, please ring one of the contact numbers listed in the adjacent column.

Please note that you will be asked to leave a message and a contact telephone number. One of our volunteers will contact you as soon as possible.

 

As our animals are in private boarding facilities you are unable to visit until you have been issued with a pass and then you must ring to make an appointment. You will be made aware of the opening times when your pass is issued.


You can view a list and pictures of some of the animals that are available for adoption by clicking on the cartoon character in the appropriate box.

 

We do not re-home animals to homes where existing an animals are not fully vaccinated.

 

 

 

Adopting a Dog

If you can give a dog a caring loving home for the rest of its life please ring

01377 240325 to discuss. Our dogs are now cared for at the RSPCA animal home on Landing Lane in York. There is no need to make an appointment. Further details on our Dogs page.

 

 

 

Adopting a Cat

 

If you can give a cat a caring loving home for the rest of its life please ring Julie on 07712459857

 

Cat adoption fee includes neutering & micro-chipping & 2 vaccinations against cat flu, enteritis & leukaemia.

 

All cats are tested for feline leukaemia prior to adoption if necessary



 

 

 

Adopting a Rabbit or Small Animal



 

If you can give a rabbit or small animal a caring home then please ring

07850190397. The rabbit adoption fee  includes neutering & vaccinations against myxomotsis RHD1 & RHD2

 

If you want to adopt a small animal then you will be asked to make a donation to the branch.



 

 

 

 

Adopting a Bird

If you wish to adopt a bird  ring 07850190397. If you do adopt a bird you will be asked to make a donation to the branch.

 

If you live outside the area covered by Bridlington, Driffield & District  Branch and you wish to adopt one of the animals in our care please contact us. We will then arrange for a volunteer of your nearest branch to contact you with regard to the home visit.

Get help and advice about animals from the national website & if possible and it is safe to do so please take any injured wildlife such as fledglings to a vet as they will be dealt with much quicker. The RSPCA will pay for this.

The nearest available RSPCA Officer may be some distance away which will delay the animal being dealt with.
